Global Warming and Climate Change Books
Endorsed by Sioux Falls Scientists

Sioux Falls Scientists recommends the following books that describe global warming and climate change.

We start with mass extinctions beginning 250 million years ago, and what may have caused them (carbon dioxide?), descriptions of 2.5 million years of ice ages, the "great warming" from 900-1300 AD which led to plentiful crops in Europe and a population explosion and prosperity, the "little ice age" from 1300-1850 AD which led to famines and changes in colonization patterns, a description of the climate and how it works, a field survey of the current state of the world's glaciers, an explanation of how global warming will lead to increased atmospheric turbulence and weather instability (more storms and more violent storms), how quickly the changes caused by global warming are likely to be upon us, and finally what it will be like when the ice caps really do melt (think the Eastern and Western coasts of America gone, New York City gone, Florida gone, Louisiana gone, and the ocean as far north as Illinois). It will not be the United States as we know it today. You will need a boat.

The books are all available from Amazon.com but you are free to obtain them from many other sources. Amazon offers them on their website along with many alternate sources, often less expensive. You are free to choose whatever source you please. The book links on the following pages point to the book location at Amazon.
